A Return to Balance

Acupuncture is an evidence-based therapy that treats the root cause of your symptoms to enable your body to heal itself. The stressors of modern life combined with our unique health histories and inherent excesses and deficiencies can cause the energy flow in our bodies to become disrupted and out of balance. Pain and illness can result. Acupuncture can restore our body’s flow of energy to reduce pain, increase relaxation, and boost recovery.

What is Acupuncture? (The Basics)

Acupuncture is an integral component of Traditional Chinese Medicine that involves inserting hair-thin needles into specific anatomical points. The needles are sterile, single use, and made of surgical-grade steel. Research has shown that when needles are inserted into these points, nerves, muscles, and connective tissue are stimulated. This activates your body's natural painkillers and increases blood flow, triggering a healing response. Acupuncture is gentle, yet effective- most patients feel a brief variety of sensations upon insertion of the needles, on the way to a deep relaxation once the needles are in place and the body’s healing flow of energy begins.
